Ashwini Shankar
Data Scientist
Ashwini Shankar is a Data Scientist at Learning Collider, where she works with organizations advancing economic mobility for low-wage workers and expanding equitable access to advanced coursework for underrepresented students in secondary schools.
Her career spans the public sector and mission-driven organizations, developing technology that is impactful and accountable to the people it serves.
As a Data Scientist at the U.S. State Department, she advised on responsible AI and built data-driven solutions for humanitarian crisis response, foreign assistance and human rights.
She entered public service as a Data Science and Analytics Fellow with the U.S. Digital Corps. As a Fellow, she participated in a White House initiative to advance a more equitable justice system through the stewardship of law enforcement data. She also received a Federal CDO Council award for her work supporting the release of Nicaraguan political prisoners.
Earlier, at Ellevation Education, she built data infrastructure for K-12 educators of English Learners.
Ashwini holds a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University, and a Data Science Certificate from Georgetown.
