Crystal Godina joined the Learning Collider team in 2023, stepping into a pivotal role as Research Manager in our Housing portfolio. Previous experience in research and public service cemented Crystal’s experience in project management, planning, and coordination.

Crystal's professional experience began with her tenure as an AmeriCorps VISTA member at the University of Miami's Office of Civic and Community Engagement, a step toward her research management role at the University of Chicago’s Inclusive Economy Lab where she showcased her versatility in housing, workforce development, and basic income projects. Most recently, Crystal served as a Senior Fellow for Housing Stability with the City of Chicago's Department of Housing and Mayor's Office of Equity and Racial Justice. There, she spearheaded the Housing Stability Community Response Team, a collaborative platform dedicated to uncovering community-driven solutions for eviction prevention and housing stability.

Topping Crystal’s list of superpowers is empathy. With her capacity to connect with others and genuinely understand diverse perspectives, her empathetic approach to project management involves orchestrating complex tasks, timelines, and objectives across multiple stakeholders. Her empathy also fuels her passion for improving housing outcomes and communities at large.

Crystal resides in Chicago, her hometown. Her attention to detail carries over to her offline craft: baking intricate French pastries and other wonderful goodies that our team can only appreciate through photos and recipe descriptions. She’s also known to share pictures of her office mate and pup, Simon.
