James Ross
Data Science Research Manager
James Ross joined Learning Collider in 2025 as Data Science Research Manager. He brings expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning to the team, with a focus on applying these tools to find new opportunities for social benefit.
James holds a Master of Mathematics from the University of New South Wales, focusing on discrete mathematics and statistics. He began his career as a data scientist at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he helped develop Bill Sense and the CBA-MI Financial Wellbeing Scales. He later served as Associate Director at the Chicago Booth Center for Applied AI, delivering research tools for faculty.
Outside of work, James delights in crafting probability puzzles and seeking out live music. His flair for the absurd has led him to enter (and lose) the USA Mullet Championships in Illinois, and to dedicate years to perfecting recipes for roasted carrots.
