Leoson Hoay joined Learning Collider in 2022, bringing along with him a nexus of data engineering, analysis, infrastructure, and communication skills. Beyond these competencies, Leoson sees social good through the prism of data-driven solutions and policies.

Working in Learning Collider’s Education and Housing research portfolios is a natural extension of Leoson’s past role as Tech Lead at UChicago Urban Labs. He continues working closely with researchers and technologists, building up tech infrastructure, supporting experimentation, and implementing statistical models.

Data wrangling tops the list of Leoson’s superpowers, followed by valuable skills in breaking down technical concepts for diverse audiences - from researchers to fellow data scientists to the tech-averse.

While earning his second Master’s degree, Leoson also finds time to write on Substack, co-host a podcast, mentor up-and-coming data practitioners through MentorCruise, and volunteer his time to mental health causes.
